ENG 101
April, 24, 2014

Dear Dr. Usree Bhattacharya
English 101 is one of best classes that I had in this semester for many reasons. Frist, this class is improving my writing a lot and I can see that just by looking to my first writing paper to the last one. In the beginning of the semester it was hard for me to write more than two pages but right now I can write more than five pages with fewer mistakes in grammar and also spelling error. In this class I learned how to be focused in my argument and how to make it stronger be but more example and details that such my point. I learned to be in time by organized all my event in the day by the time. Before the class start I was thinking what the syllables mean because it is a new things to me as international student we did not have it since the class Dr.Usree taught us how to use it. I like how we are working together in class and share ideas that may help us in the paper Dr.Usree is great teacher and friendly person. She helps me a lot to learn and learn anew subjects. I feel comfortable to talk with her about my difficulty in class because she is international and know how it is difficult to study in a new country, culture, way, and language. She tried to help us as much as she can I hope if she teach ENG102. I suggest if there is more visit to the writing center to make review to some grammar. Also, I wish that the research paper was with specific topic not just Globalization to make it easy to the student to share ideas for example; Globalization and internet. I hope to get A in this class because I worked hard to make all my paper and ideas clear and I  make all my assignment in the time also I did not be absent I am always there  in the time.
In my opinion, the writing center is the most helpful place in the university.it is working all the day to help student to improve their English writing. I visited the writing center several time the workers there friendly, helpful and try to help as much as they can. Since it is a new place for me because we did not have it back home I like the idea of the writing center and I wish that work to in my country. Also I like the workshop that we had there specifically the one about I voice .it is help me a lot in my research paper .Finally, I wish get  a good grade in this class and I want to thank u because you are teacher ,friend ,and mom  and always remember me as good student.
Best Regards,
Laila Alkhamees

Globalization

I picked this YouToub video with the topic Globalization explained for many reasons; first, I like the way that show up by drawing some picture that may make the meaning clear .other things in this video that it shows the meaning of globalization by given some examples . The video give a summary about the meaning of the globalizationa and how it is affect our life in both way; the positive way,and in the negative way . The meaning of globalization in the video is the communication between two different countries or more in many different way like in culture ,food...elc that make the world as one countries with using all these communication things . The video also shows how the economy affect by globlaization more specifically if there is 2 countries that were export their product to each other because each one of the country did not have the product that the other have the benefit will go to the two countries but nowadays each country have the product that they were buy it from other with high price . This things affect the countries that were export to other by decreasing their economic. Other things that discoverer in the video who the globalization affect the environment; as the world development the company and factory need more land so they chopping the forest and change that environment balance in the same time .Also the global warming that increasing every day by using car . The last things that I think is true that all these negative affect in our life could be positive but all that in our hand for the future.

Globalization and food systems
Globalization changes every singles things in our life as well as food.” I’ve just eaten for Breakfast   all ingredients purchased at the local Supermarket and wonder how one might best do that.” (Phillips, 2006). We eat every day different and verity kinds of food without knowing where it is come from.  In the past, we were eating the food that our families grow in their land. Now days, the food cross our country from different places with no limited this phenomena called globalization. Food systems make the world development all that effect many things. More specific, it has many affect which may be positive or negative.  Based the positive effect to the food systems and globalization there are many negative effect. In the paper will such the negative effect of the food systems by answering theses question:
1.      How the food systems were?
2.      What is the negative effect of food systems for environment?
3.      What is the negative effect of food systems economically and industry?
Understanding the negative effect of globalization and food systems may keep our countries safe from many dangerous that may be are not knowing or it is cover in other benefits of globalization and food systems, and make solution before the negative effect show .
How the Food Systems Were?
In the past, people used to grow their own food because it was too hard to buy food from other country or even though other near city the transportation was poor so people were depend in their work.  The food kinds were too small. Now days, the food is everywhere with different value and quality. From this point people right now too depend in other food product .For example, in Saudi Arabia, super markets in always depend in other countries food products Which it is make the price high. This high pricing may lead to not get enough food for some citizen which increasing the poor family in the country.” The past half-century has seen marked growth in food production, allowing for a dramatic decrease in the proportion of the world’s people that are hungry.”( Godfray, H. C. J. (2010). Food security: the challenge of feeding 9 billion people.).  The food systems growth in all countries and also the population is increasing in the same time which makes the life harder. The main reason that make the life harder is the needed of food which make the companies increasing their products

Laila Alkhamees,
English 101.

                                                 Food and Globalization.
Food is the one of requirement to be live. Did you ask yourself where it is come from? We eat every day variety kinds of food that come from around the world. This is how the world global. In the past, people tried to grow their food by their hand because it was hard to get the food  from other place for the difficulty transfer between countries so they were depend in their self .Now days , people are  get their food from different markets with cheap  price  and verity kinds without any exertion. This phenomena has  positive and negative effect in  each country .More specific , some counties will have their industry and they will sell it around the world  which make their  economic so high ,but other will be depend in other products which make their economic too law. Other benefits that countries culture will be known by other countries which make the world as one city with different kinds of food that you can find it everywhere. I will argue that is bad because the countries that depend in other product will not development and they will be poor society one day. If the countries that sell their product to the one that buy their product  stop sell them the other  countries will not  have their own food or other food   and this might lead to war.
